What We Do

"Our words can change the world."
-Malala Yousafzai

The New Courant is a non-profit opinion publication for young adult writers. We publish opinion essays written by youth ages 13-21.

Who We Are

Every day, kids wake up and see the world. They go to school, hear the news, hang with friends, play a sport, read a book. All the while, they form opinions about the world around them. These opinions are unique and important and deserve to be heard.

That's where we come in.

The New Courant is modeled after a traditional newspaper or magazine. Youth ages 13-21 submit opinion essays to our editorial staff. We respond to the author and work with them to revise and edit their article. We publish finished essays on our website, free for anyone, anywhere to read.
